In fact, he used to be a fixture in the 7-card stud net games at Harrah's in Reno, where you could see him from the rail wearing his "Panama" hat.
He enjoyed the win so much that he repeated the feat the very next day, taking down first place in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament. Actually, the fact that he is very well off financially should not detract from the fact that Lyle is an excellent poker player. In August, Juanda played a series of tournaments in Los Angeles and his $399,600 win in the $300 Limit Hold'em 1999 Heavenly Hold'em event set him up financially to continue with poker full-time.
